Discovered last week that there is such a thing as "chalkboard paint".
You can purchase a small tube for about $5.00. You can paint on glass, rigid plastic, and other surfaces. (Make sure to read the label to be certain that it will adhere to the surface that you're thinking to cover.)
Once you have picked your selected spot -- go for it! You have to apply two coats for it to work well.
I tested the paint out on a plastic jar. It took 24 hours to dry. This morning I tried it out.
Think of all the places you could use this: make a welcome sign, create a play wall in a child's bedroom, make your own message board in the kitchen, leave a note of kindness at your co-worker's desk, use it to label spaces in a classroom, or label everyone's cup at a get-together! Let your imagination run for a bit. Soon, you'll be telling everyone what you have created!
